In
January 1995, Pastors Val and Brenda Dodd presided at the first of six
monthly celebration services at the Reimer Building on Burloak Drive, (Oakville) in obedience to God's call
some three months prior. In October 1994 Pastor Val Dodd had received
a never to be forgotten vision while attending the first "Catch the
Fire" conference in Toronto. The presence of God was
so strong that he felt caught up into the heavenlies
as on wings like an eagle, and so bright that he had to cover his
eyes. Father God then spoke to him, "Son you have undergirded other ministries for the past seventeen
years. I want you out on your own."
Pastor Val spent twelve
years at Crossroads and five years at Lay Leadership International.
At about the same time, John Arnott, senior
pastor of Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship asked Val and Brenda to
consider planting a satellite church west of Toronto. The Dodds
were itinerant pastors based at the Airport church, preaching and
ministering at revival meetings around the world.
On July 23rd 1995, the first regular Sunday church service was held in a
small studio in Burlington and the name BurlOak Christian
Fellowship was born. As the membership increased, arrangements were
made with John Knox Christian School located just off Ford Drive in Oakville. In Sept 2002 a new phase of church life
began. We are now in our beautiful facilities
at 4343 Regional Rd.#25 (Bronte Rd.) Oakville. This building is being used to facilitate
church life and be a blessing to Oakville and the surrounding areas. Small groups meet during the week for
worship, Bible study, fellowship and ministry at various locations.
Why no join us on a Sunday Morning and find out more about what God is
doing through BCF.
